Project Overview
The OpenEarable ExG platform extends the OpenEarable earpiece to support biopotential sensing in and around the ears. Please find detailed information about it here.
Our Goal
The project's goal is to enable multifunctional biopotential sensing (EEG, EMG, EOG) through an open, modular, and accessible ear-worn device. It aims to pave the way for new research and applications in brain–body interaction, human-computer interfaces, and wearable health monitoring.
Highlights
- Multifunctional Sensing: Capable of detecting multiple biopotential signals, including EOG (eye movements), EEG (brainwave activity), and EMG (muscle activity).
- Fully Open-Source: The hardware design, firmware, software, and documentation are all open-source, compliant with best practices from the Open-Source Hardware Association.
- Validated Performance: A validation study with three participants successfully demonstrated the platform’s capability to accurately detect various biosignals.
