Project Overview
The Smart-Its project explores a vision of pervasive computing where everyday objects become interactive “soft media” through embedded technology. Small sensor nodes can be attached to ordinary artefacts, giving them capabilities for sensing, processing, communication, and perception. The project includes the development of wireless sensor nodes, communication protocols, applications, and user studies to investigate context-awareness and emergent behavior in interconnected object environments.
Our Goal
The goal of Smart-Its is to enable and study ubiquitous computing by transforming everyday objects into context-aware, interactive systems, allowing researchers to explore new forms of digital augmentation, collective behavior, and embedded intelligence in physical environments.
