Predictive Maintenance – Machine Health Demo

Project Overview

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) analyzes machine vibrations during operation to detect anomalies and predict potential failures. The demo uses TECO's compact bPart sensor nodes, equipped with multiple MEMS sensors and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), to retrofit existing machines for continuous condition monitoring. Sensor data is transmitted to a smartphone, where vibration characteristics are analyzed against a reference model.

Our Goal

The goal of this demo is to demonstrate a lightweight, retrofit-friendly approach to predictive maintenance by continuously monitoring machine vibrations, detecting anomalies early, and estimating the remaining operational lifetime through dynamic Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) calculations.
